Stanford Plavin, MD

Stanford R. Plavin MD is a board certified physician anesthesiologist who has remained dedicated to providing high standards of patient care and safety for over two decades. Dr. Plavin graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1986, received his MD from University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1993 and finished his residency in Anesthesiology at Emory University School of Medicine in 1997. After completing his residency, Dr. Plavin received his certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1999. He believes that his educational experience played an integral role in developing his love of healthcare and assisting patients by improving access to quality care.

Stanford Plavin’s work maintaining a full clinical practice has led to him becoming disciplined in providing general anesthesia and sedation in a wide range of clinical settings including outpatient surgical centers, hospital operating rooms, physician offices, and dental as well as oral surgery. This experience is supplemented by a variety of entrepreneurial activities that he has taken part of over the course of his career. Dr. Plavin has worked in several capacities in the healthcare sector, including serving as a medical consultant and speaker, strategic advisor, special operations specialist, and board member. He has also served as co-founder, president, and managing partner at his previous company Ambulatory Anesthesia of Atlanta.

Today, Stanford Plavin leads the team at Technical Anesthesia Strategies and Solutions (TASS), where he works to connect healthcare providers with solutions and strategies to uphold excellence across their platforms. Through his work in healthcare, Stanford Plavin has built a reputation on his commitment to achieving the highest standards of healthcare quality and safety possible. Dr. Plavin maintains that the healthcare sector is a more inclusive, empathic, and safe space for patients when practitioners take the time to discuss pertinent medical history, carefully explain treatment methods, and answer relevant questions as thoroughly as possible. According to Dr. Plavin, this approach is foundational to developing rapport with patients and helping them remain at ease when seeking treatment at healthcare facilities.

Dr. Plavin’s commitment to his work is underlined by a commitment to continuing education, and he is known to frequently attend lectures both in the U.S and internationally to discuss crucial topics in healthcare, attend American Society of Anesthesiologists annual meetings, and maintain his current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. Stanford Plavin also holds several professional affiliations and remains active in medicine and anesthesiology communities. This helps him remain up to date on the many ongoing conversations and important developments in his space as healthcare continues to evolve over time.
